East Lyme Middle School Swim Team

Members  Boys and Girls attending East Lyme and Salem schools in 5th through 8th Grade ONLY.

Evaluations:  Evaluation Days for new swimmers will be offered Tuesday 11/13/17 5:00-5:30pm, or Wednesday 11/14/17 4:00-4:30pm. Returning swimmers do not need an evaluation. First practices for all members at ELHS as follows: Thursday 11/15 3:30-4:30, Fri 11/16 3:30-5:00. A bus will be available from the MS.

Requirements:  As a minimum requirement, Swimmers should be able to swim the following:

• 50 yards of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke in legal form

• 25 yards of butterfly

• 100 yard Individual Medley must be completed

Season: Begins November 15th 2018 and runs thru the Championship meet: February 2nd, 2019 @ SCSU.

Practices: We are targeting 22 practices, 2 per week for 11 weeks.  Full schedule released at first practice.

Meets: Up to 6 Dual Meets plus Championships.  100% attendance is expected at meets.

Transportation:  There will be a bus on school days to take the swimmers from the East Lyme Middle school to the pool for practices that occur right after school at 3:30. Each swimmer’s name must be on the bus list in order for them to ride the bus. Away meets will have bus transportation, except the championship. No transportation will be provided to the championship meet

Equipment: Team Suit, Team Cap and goggles required. Orders for team suits and caps will be taken the first week of practice and handled through CT Sporting Goods. Optional team apparel also available.
